One map, 242 public webcams, the whole of Slovakia: 126 live videos, 45 panoramas updated at intervals and 71 refreshed photos.

What this catalogue does

It brings public cameras together on one map. It is not a complete list of every camera in Slovakia, and the project does not operate the cameras listed. Everything loads from the original services.

How we check

When we add a camera, we check the source, the type of media, whether the picture plays or loads, and the available location data. For live streams we check that playback moves on or that new video segments arrive; for photos, that the picture changes between downloads. Public access and the check date do not guarantee that a camera stays available.

What do the webcams show?

Mountains and old towns. Ski slopes and quiet lakes. The places people here love, and the places you may be about to visit. Not every picture is live video, so we tell you plainly, camera by camera, what kind of picture you are looking at.

How can I tell if a picture is current?

Here is the honest answer: look at the time in the picture, or in the provider's player. The date in our catalogue tells you when we last checked the source. It is not when the picture was taken, and it is not a promise that the camera will keep working. We would rather tell you that than overpromise.

Where do the pictures come from?

Slovakia Live did not build these cameras. Towns, resorts, local groups and webcam networks did, and they chose to share the view with the rest of us. Video and photos load straight from them, and every camera page names the original source, because credit belongs to the people who did the work.

Are the points on the map exact?

Close, but not perfect. The points show an approximate location. For six older cameras we have not yet confirmed the position, and their pages say so. That work is not finished, and we will keep at it.
